Frugate Terms of Service

Effective date: 15 January 2025

These terms set out the agreement between you and Frugate Ltd for use of the Frugate platform.

Acceptance of terms

By creating a Frugate account, accessing our applications, or continuing to use Frugate after changes take effect you agree to these Terms of Service and all referenced policies.

If you use Frugate on behalf of a business you confirm that you have authority to bind that business to this agreement.

Account responsibilities

  • Provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Ensure invited household members are authorised and understand these terms.
  • Comply with applicable laws when using Frugate, including financial reporting obligations.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe using the currency shown during checkout. You authorise us to charge recurring fees until you cancel. Prices may change with thirty days notice.

If a payment fails we may retry reasonable collections, downgrade your plan, or suspend access until the balance is settled.

Trials, cancellations, and refunds

Growth plan trials last for the period stated during signup. At the end of the trial you will be charged unless you cancel before renewal.

You can cancel at any time from the Plans and Billing page. Cancellation stops future charges but does not provide refunds for the current billing period unless required by law.

Acceptable use

  • Do not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the services except where permitted by law.
  • Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access, probe, or overload our infrastructure.
  • Do not misuse bank connections for accounts you are not legally entitled to access.

Financial guidance disclaimer

Frugate provides budgeting tools and educational content. We do not provide regulated financial advice. Decisions based on information supplied through Frugate are your responsibility.

Third party services

Frugate integrates with services such as Stripe and GoCardless. These services are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their actions or for losses arising from their platforms.

Intellectual property

We own the Frugate platform, branding, and content except for material you upload. You retain ownership of your data. By submitting content you grant us a limited licence to use it to operate the services.

Service availability

We strive to keep Frugate available with minimal disruption. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance when possible. We may modify or discontinue features to improve the service.

Warranties and liability

Frugate is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under law. Subject to that, our total liability for all claims in any twelve month period is limited to the fees you paid during that period.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Frugate against claims arising from your misuse of the services, breach of these terms, or violation of law, except where the claim results from our negligence or breach.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, fail to pay fees, or present a security risk. We aim to give notice unless immediate action is required.

After termination we retain data only as described in our Privacy Policy. You can request exports before closure.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales unless local law requires otherwise.
